02 Oct Luxurious Little Known Secret: Restaurant 101 at Enderun College
Asian in America | October 2, 2013
I only have 14 to 21 days to enjoy a visit to the Philippines. Unlike others who can stay for a month of idyllic vacation days which involve eating favorite tropical fruits, spending time with family and combing the beaches, sites, shops, I can only stay two short weeks to do it all, including a 20+ hour air travel time from the USA. Work commitments back in the States call me back after 3 weeks.
That said,I plan my trips with precision and a schedule so hectic that no one , not even my husband or my sister can keep up with.
One of the best pleasures of a Philippine trip is eating. Whether it’s eating in or out, I try to make it worth our time by searching for the best meals at great prices. It doesn’t have to be a brand name establishment and especially not a restaurant chain, please. I refuse to stand in line or wait for an hour just to be seated in a ‘diner style’ restaurant which has similar chains here in the USA. Instead, I search for the unique find with well-cooked meals made from the freshest ingredients.
We found it after a 30 minute drive from Makati. One of the finest places with the most exquisitely prepared meals was right in the middle of a college campus. We arrived at Enderun College’s ‘Restaurant 101’ which is located in McKinley Hill, Taguig city.
This elegant, upscale restaurant with modern French cuisine using local Philippine ingredients proved a surprising find. Enderun College, a premiere business management school in the Philippines and Asia offers the finest culinary education program via the Ducasse Institute of the Philippines, the only one outside of the France headquarters.
What makes Restaurant 101 special? The menu includes fine steaks, superb seafood, the freshest vegetables and the most mouthwatering desserts. The wine list is impressive. The venue seats 80 at a time, with private function rooms for up to 24.
Beyond all that, find out what makes Restaurant 101 a little known secret and why it could be one of the best gastronomical experiences in Manila. Check out the full story of my visit to Restaurant 101 at Enderun College on the Positively Filipino, the ezine. No other establishment makes one proud of the Filipino talent.
Was it worth it? You bet it was. Every scrumptious bite
